This presentation examines dissident performative strategies emerging from queer, working-class, and trans bodies in Chile, positioning the sonic as an analytical category for understanding their politico-sexual struggles.
Cristian A. Aravena is currently a professor and scholar at the School of Theater of the Universidad Mayor in Chile. He holds a Ph.D. in Art History and an M.A. in Latin American Studies from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and a B.A. in Acting from the University of Chile. His academic and artistic work focuses on political theater, sexual dissidence, and performance art in Chile and Mexico.
