Student Internships
The Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies supports two (unpaid) Student Internship programs.
Academic Year Internships: This program supports two student interns in the development of scholarly projects that support the CSULB medieval and renaissance studies academic community. Under the guidance of Center Directors, students develop a project of particular interest to their studies to pursue throughout the academic year.
Summer Internships: This program supports advanced students of medieval studies who are interested in working in the medieval fantasy writing and table-top gaming industry. Under the direction of Dr. Ilan Mitchell-Smith and in collaboration with leading independent fantasy publishers, students gain experience in editorial and creative writing and well as editorial proof reading. In Summer 2025 our partnering publisher was Troll Lord Games.
Applications for 2025-2026 Student Internships will be announced in early Fall 2025.
