Whether you just graduated or received your CSULB degree many years ago, the Career Development Center (CDC) can assist you with your career transition and job search by providing access to career assessments, counseling, online job boards, and networking opportunities with employers.

Recent CSULB Graduates

Recent graduates have continued access to all career services. As a recent graduate, a former student who graduated within the last 12 months, your “student” status will be updated to “alumni”. As an alumnus over the next few months, you will start to lose access to various chicklets in MyApps/SSO. You will need to access CareerLINK directly from the CareerLINK Alumni Sign-In.

Sign in to your CareerLINK Alumni Account

  1. Go to CareerLINK Sign in- Forgot my Password
  2. Select Alumni
  3. Select Forgot Password
  4. Enter your Student ID#
  5. Check your student/personal email account to access the password reset link

Note: The password reset email will be sent to your MyCSULB Student Center preferred email account

Alumni Beyond 12 Months

Alumni, with a degree award date beyond 12 months can continue to access CareerLINK: Career Event & Online Job Board free of charge with a completed Alumni Services Request Form.

Recent Graduates:

Continue to make career counseling appointments through BeachConnect. Once you lose the chicklet in MyApps/SSO you can contact the Career Development Center at 562-985-4151 or complete this form to request to schedule an appointment.

Alumni Beyond 12 months:

Alumni with a degree award date beyond 12 months can sign-up for Career Counseling Services with an annual subscription fee of $150. To purchase career counseling services, please complete the following online form.

Career Counseling Services Include:

  • Career Counseling - Schedule up to 5 individual appointments with a career counselor to assist you with:
    • Career transition
    • Job search strategy
    • Assist in clarifying values, interests, skills, and making a career decision (includes career assessments if needed)
  • No refunds will be issued once payment is made.
  • Violation of the CDC Policies will result in services being denied and paid fees forfeited.
  • Career Counseling Appointment Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance through CareerLINK, by phone or email to the counselor.
  • No-Shows to counseling appointments will count toward the 5 appointments allotted per a one-year period.

Department of Rehabilitation (DOR):

DOR participants may be eligible to request DOR’s assistance with Alumni Career Counseling Services fee. For more information, please contact your DOR counselor. To purchase career counseling services, please complete the following online form.

DOR check payments sent to CSULB Cashiers office will take 2 – 4 weeks to process.

  • CareerLINK Jobs: Over 12,000 full-time, part-time & internship positions posted annually
  • Career Counseling: Individual appointments with a career counselor assist you with your career transition and job search strategy. Career counselors assist in clarifying values, interests, skills, and making a career decision. Includes career assessments if needed.
  • Drop-in Advising: Career advisors are provided on a first-come, first served basis for questions that can be answered in 10 - 15 minutes, during posted hours only.
  • Workshops: Such as resume writing, interviewing techniques, job search and networking, or applying to graduate and professional schools.
  • Employer Information Sessions: Visiting employers present company information and promote current job openings.
  • Job Fairs: Meet with a large number of employers, in one setting, who are specifically seeking CSULB students and alumni for the purpose of employment.
  • Campus Interview (CI) Program: CI is a program designed, primarily to assist graduating seniors; however, there may be opportunities slated for alumni as well, on a limited basis. Alumni eligibility is determined by the specific employer posting the opportunity.

The Career Development Center (CDC) provides a variety of professional development and employer events to help you explore and prepare for career opportunities as well as connect with employers to gain insight on the current job market and the skills needed to succeed.
