Fun Fact: I have a pitbull named beasty that follows me everywhere I go.

Ruben Luevano
Year One Scholar
Major: Chemical Engineering
Hails From: South Gate, Calif.
Research Interests: Fuel Cell, materials, and computational quantum chemistry.
Personal Interests: Completing the pokedex on every pokemon game.
Favorite Scientist: Josiah Willard Gibbs, the first to be awarded an American Doctorate in Engineering.
Fun Fact: I have eaten 24 tacos in one sitting before.

Jairo Maldonado
Year Three Scholar
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Hails From: Santa Maria, Calif.
Research Interests: I am interested in the design and control of bio-inspired robots for human rehabilitation and/or augmentation.
Personal Interests: In my free time, I enjoy playing soccer for the school club team and recreationally.
Favorite Scientist: Carl Sagan's dialogues about the vastness and mysteriousness of space allow me to see the world and our existence from a unique perspective.
Fun Fact: The first time I ever rode a train was in Barcelona, Spain, two years ago.
