I started attending CSULB in the Fall of 2020 during the pandemic. Since everything was virtual, I was looking to get involved on campus in some way. I joined ASI, in my first semester as a Beach Team member. I then later became Trustee-at-Large, Chair of the Board of Trustees, and then Vice President of Finance. I loved the work I did in all my roles throughout the 3 years and ultimately decided to run for the ASI President. Now I currently serve as the student body president fulfilling the mission of ASI every day. Throughout my time at ASI, my focus was on promoting healthy living among college students. I worked towards enhancing services at the Beach Pantry, opening the Beach Kitchen for hands-on culinary education, and introducing ShakesSmart on campus for healthier food options. My experience at Beach made me realize my passion for public service and what I truly want to pursue in the future.

I decided to go to CSULB because it was near where I lived before and I was able to tour the campus. The pandemic at the time just started so I wasn’t able to tour many campuses that I applied to. From the campuses I toured, I liked CSULB the first time I saw it.

I want to pursue a master’s degree after and maybe down the line a PhD. I would later on want to run for office one day after all my education is complete.

I want to stay connected with CSULB Alumni and give back to the community who believed in me and helped me grow as a person. Being part of the program will also help me navigate my life after college.
