I worked at LBSU from 1961-1999. I ended up teaching at Long Beach State, because there was a guy I knew who was a chairmen of one of the departments of the university, and knowing him led me to working there.

I had a very positive experience at Long Beach State. I am delighted to be associated with the university. During my tenure, I was mostly involved with teaching and research like most other faculty. I also took two leaves of absences when I went to conduct research at institutions like the University of Colorado and Cambridge.

My most memorable moments were my experiences with students. I had wonderful students who went on to get degrees and become faculty members at universities all around the nation. May also when on to premed. It was just so nice to see students move on successfully to a career after getting their degrees.

Today, I am enjoying retirement.

Ideal. It was so nice having a campus where students and faculty had the freedom to pursue their interests.
