Frequently Asked Questions
Our EOP office does not require copies of tax returns or transcripts (other CSU EOP programs may require them).
Transcripts or other documents requested by Enrollment Services should be sent directly to their office.
- For fall cycle, our EOP Admission team will typically start reviewing applications by early March. Admissions notifications are sent out by the first week of April. For spring cycle, our team will review applications in the month of November. Admissions notifications are sent out by the first week of December.
- Note, an EOP application can only be reviewed AFTER a student has been ADMITTED to CSULB and has submitted the EOP application materials by the deadline. Missing any required application materials or submitted late are considered INCOMPLETE and will not be evaluated unless an exception is granted by EOP Admissions Staff.
- Our EOP Admissions team can only review applications from students who have been officially admitted to CSULB. We cannot evaluate your EOP application while you are on the waitlist. If your waitlist status changes at any time, please email us at eopadmissions@csulb.edu so we can determine whether your application can be considered.
- Students are selected through a holistic review of the information provided in the EOP application and recommendation forms. Be sure to include details that explain why you need EOP support—such as educational, financial, or personal barriers—as well as examples of your resilience and motivation. This helps evaluators fully understand your circumstances. Priority admission consideration is given to CSULB local area applicants and students who attend the EOP Next Steps workshops.
- The EOP Next Steps Workshops provide students with a guided overview of the requirements into the EOP program. These sessions cover key deadlines, required documents, program expectations, and important resources to help students complete both their CSULB and EOP admission processes. Students who attend a workshop will receive priority admission consideration.
Congratulations on your admission to EOP! As part of the EOP program requirements:
- Incoming first-year students must attend the mandatory Summer Bridge Program and enroll in EOP 100 during the fall semester.
- Incoming transfer students must attend the Transfer Summer Bridge Program.
- All students must also meet CSULB university requirements, including (but not limited to) accepting your Intent to Enroll, attending SOAR and submitting final transcripts by the stated deadlines.
