Dolor y Cariño: A Grief Circle for Día de los Muertos
Please join this grief circle to learn and talk about grief through the lens of Día de los Muertos. We will talk about who we’ve lost and how to connect with our loved ones through music, art, memories, and more. This 60-minute workshop by Dr. Christian Bracho offers a communal space to reflect on grief through the practices and traditions of Día de los Muertos. Participants are welcome to share as much or as little as feels right. We will also provide information about additional grief-support resources for those who would like continued care or therapy. Dr. Christian A. Bracho is an assistant professor of teacher education in the College of Education, and was certified as a death doula in 2025 with the International End of Life Doula Association (INELDA). He is the author of “Grieving in Spanglish: A Glossary of Loss,” a memoir.
