Marking October 7th
Please join the Jewish Studies Program at CSULB for a profoundly moving talk by Shye Klein, a photographer and survivor of the 10/7 Nova Music Festival Massacre. The talk will be at the Alpert JCC (3801 E. Willow St., Long Beach), at 7 pm on October 6th.
Klein, a Canadian-Israeli photographer, arrived at the Nova Music Festival around 2 am on October 7th, with the goal of experiencing his first-ever rave. His photographs document the happiness and camaraderie of the music festival followed by the horror of the Hamas attack. In his talk, Klein will discuss both the joy of the festival, along with his harrowing escape under rocket and gunfire.
Like all Jewish Studies events, this talk is free and open to the public. For security reasons, those wishing to attend must rsvp first through the Alpert JCC: https://www.jewishlongbeach.org/calendar/oct7speaker Please also note that there will be a clear bag policy in effect.
