The Program
Guest Artist Hannah Victoria Thomas is working with the compelling and evocative Montgomery Variations by Margaret Bonds, a piece that transports you with its rich, lyrical textures. “T” Akuchu is utilizing an exhilarating excerpt from Stravinsky’s groundbreaking Rite of Spring, a true tour de force of modernist innovation. Lorin Johnson is choreographing to Marquez’s electrifying Danzón No. 2, a piece brimming with infectious rhythms and irresistible energy. The sublime elegance of Dora Pejačević’s Andante sostenuto from her Symphony in F-sharp minor, Op. 41 is inspiring the new work by Rebecca Lemme. Lastly, Andrew Vaca will immerse you in the lush, emotive beauty of the 4th movement from Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, the “New World Symphony."
