The syllabus serves as one of your first forms of communication with students, helping to set the tone for what students can expect from the course and you as the instructor. How can you ensure that your syllabus is designed in a welcoming and inclusive manner that clearly conveys the expectations for the course while establishing a supportive relationship?

In this interactive virtual workshop, we will explore the characteristics of an inclusive syllabus. You will also have the opportunity to do a syllabus “tune up,” where you can make tweaks to your syllabus in preparation for the upcoming term.

NOTE: This is a 2-hour virtual workshop that will be held via Zoom. There will be breakout room activities that you will have the option to engage in. Please bring a copy of one of your course syllabi to the session.
