Graduate Studies

In response to closed testing sites due to COVID-19, many of our programs are waiving the GRE exam as an entrance requirement. Please check with your Department Graduate Advisor to see if GRE or other standardized testing is required for Fall 2020 applications. If it is, please refer to this list of College Entrance Exam Testing Alternatives.

Continuing graduate students who are unable to complete a comprehensive examination or who receive incompletes for projects or thesis/dissertation issued in spring 2020 can complete their culminating activity in summer of 2020. They will not be required to register for GS 700 during the summer. They will formally graduate during the spring term as long as their culminating activity requirements are completed by August 7, 2020. Students should contact their Department Graduate Advisor to take advantage of this extension.

Graduate Student Resources
Students walking pass the "go beach" sign

As a grad student, there is a lot of information you need to know in addition to academic knowledge—for example, how to access your student email account or how to buy a parking permit. In the past, finding this information required searching through multiple web pages, which can take valuable time away from important goals like studying, working, or conducting research. Navigating Grad Studies at the Beach solves this problem, by providing a centralized online space for all grad students to learn about campus resources, student support services, and the path to graduation.
