Vice President, Disneyland Resort (Ret.)
1982, Bachelor of Science, Business Administration, CSULB

In January 2016, after many productive and rewarding years with “The Magic Kingdom,” Jon Storbeck retired from the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim.  As the vice president of Resort Hotels and the Downtown Disney District, Storbeck directed daily operations for Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, the historic Disneyland Hotel, and Paradise Pier Hotel.

He also oversaw the operations of Downtown Disney and led the Security & Emergency Services teams for the Disneyland Resort, as well as Disney Special Activities for all domestic theme parks and resorts.  Prior to that, as vice president of Disneyland Park, Storbeck oversaw the entire operation of Walt Disney’s original theme park.

After graduating from CSULB, he began his 32-year career with Disney. He went on to hold a variety of key leadership roles.  In 2013, Storbeck was named the "VoluntEAR of the Year" by Disneyland Resort in recognition of 30 years of volunteerism.  He began volunteering with the fledgling Disney Community Action Team in 1983 and has participated in Disney-sponsored KaBOOM! playground builds, the annual CHOC/Disneyland Resort Walk in the Park, and the resort’s Toys for Tots toy drive.

He has been involved with Junior Achievement, Make-a-Wish Orange County/Inland Empire, Paint Your Heart Out Anaheim and currently serves on boards for the CHOC Children’s Foundation and Taller San Jose/Hope Builders.  In addition, he is a member of the CSULB Board of Governors.

Storbeck and his wife, Katie (’88, Psychology), are the proud parents of Jack, Dana, Joey, and Matt.
