Electric Vehicle Parking Regulations

Paid parking is required at all times when parking on campus, including EV charging spaces.

As a courtesy to other electric vehicle drivers, the spaces must be used for charging purposes. Vehicles who disregard this policy by parking in EV spaces without the charging port plugged in will be subject to citation.

General Lots (G7)

6 a.m.-10 a.m., Mon.-Fri.: Eligible electric vehicles* only.
After 10 a.m., Mon.-Fri. and all-day on weekends: Available to all vehicles.

Employee Lots (E8)

6 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Mon.-Fri.: Eligible electric vehicles* with Employee Permit only.
After 5:30 p.m., Mon.-Fri. and all-day on weekends: Eligible electric vehicles* only.

*Eligible vehicles include fully-electric or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) with charge portsNon-electric vehicles or hybrid electric vehicles without charging ports are not considered eligible electric vehicles.

Pyramid and Palo Verde South (Parking Structures)

Four-hour limit at all times (including weekends and holidays).

In addition to starting a ChargePoint charging session, individuals charging in the Parking Structures must also enter their license plate number and coupon code (#3314) at the pay station at the beginning of their 4-hour parking session. Vehicles parked longer than the 4-hour time limit, ineligible vehicles, or users who do not enter the coupon code at the pay stations are subject to citation (CVC 21113A).
