Chris Lowe, professor and director of Cal State Long Beach's Shark Lab, told ABC 7 that El Niño-driven ocean changes are pushing unusual marine animals into Southern California habitats. While the arrival of endangered olive ridley turtles and other species is striking, Lowe cautions that warmer waters can harm native wildlife and threaten kelp forests, creating uncertain consequences.
