Professor Confirms the Anthropocene is not a New Epoch

Stanley Finney, professor in the Department of Earth Science and secretary-general of the International Union of Geological Sciences, spoke with Nature magazine about the decision to uphold the decision not to designate a new epoch in Earth's timetable. There had been interest in defining a new era for Earth known as the Anthropocene, or a formal epoch where humans are altering the planet.
