CSULB Part of Recovery Effort for Endangered Sea Stars

Doug Pace, associate professor of marine biology, spoke with The New York Times about the captive breeding program to help recover critically endangered sunflower sea stars decimated by warming ocean temperatures. Dr. Pace, who studies the genetic makeup of different  populations, said these efforts may reveal ways for the sunflower star to meet the challenges of a warming ocean.
