There is a crisis at the southern border: thousands of unaccompanied immigrant children are being left there in hope of being accepted into America.

Lauren Heidbrink, associate professor in the Department of Human Development and author of the book Migrant Youth, Transnational Families, and the State: Care and Contested Interests, wrote a Press-Telegram op-ed to share her thoughts on housing these children.

Heidbrink was also featured in the Los Angeles Times where she shares her thoughts on potentially housing migrant children in the City of Long Beach.
