"Minari" - A Virtual Conversation with Writer/Director, Lee Isaac Chung

The Academy Gold AAPI Affinity Group and CSULB hold an Academy's Visiting Artists event with Lee Isaac Chung, director of Oscar-winning Minari (2021). He will talk about the film, its depiction of a Korean immigrant family's American dream, his Asian American filmmaking experience, his work on independent and mainstream productions, and his process transitioning from school to career. Professor Seung-hoon Jeong in Film & Electronic Arts will introduce the event, and producer Janet Yang, Governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, will moderate a 75-minute conversation with the director including an open Q&A on Zoom. This special event is featured as an FEA career event but is open to the public. Please register through the link embedded in the poster. The film is available for free for 30 days on Showtime.
