The Film & Electronic Arts Department Pays Tribute to Huntington Beach with Film from Recent Graduate

The Pier, directed by Charles Watson, a recent alum of The Film & Electronic Arts Department, is a visual and aural love letter to the Huntington Beach Pier narrated by its visitors. Since graduating from CSULB, Charles has gone on to pursue his MFA at Duke University. During his time at the Film & Electronic Arts Department, Charles won two CSU Media Arts Festival awards for documentary films made while in the Creative Nonfiction track.. Charles directed the film in 2017, little did he know, years later The Pier would have special significance as Huntington Beach battles a major offshore oil spill. The Film & Electronic Arts Department shares The Pier as a tribute to Huntington Beach during a time of great ecological sorrow.
