Beach Connect Mobile App FAQ

Students

The Beach Connect mobile app assists students in meeting their educational goals by giving students access to important information on their phones. In addition to appointment scheduling, the mobile app includes reminders about holds and upcoming deadlines, a tool to create study groups for classes, and information about academic support resources.

Enrolled students with access to Single Single-On can use the Beach Connect mobile app.

The Beach Connect mobile app is free for students to download and use.

To install the Beach Connect app, follow the How to Install the App and Log In instructions.

The Navigate Student app is used by many schools. Once students log in to their CSULB Single Sign-On account, they have access to the customized content and features in Beach Connect.

On the home page of the app, select the Settings button. Under the “My Stuff” category, select Notification Settings. After you choose your notification settings, select the Update Settings button to save them.

If you have not satisfied a university requirement or condition, a hold may be placed on your student record that may restrict access to certain services, such as registering for and dropping classes. When a hold is placed on your record, it appears on MyCSULB Student Center and now on your Beach Connect mobile app too! Be sure to check for holds frequently and follow the instructions to remove them as soon as you can.

The university may require or recommend that you complete certain tasks to help you meet your educational goals. In many cases, a to-do may be placed on your record to remind you to submit missing information to an office, such as Financial Aid and Scholarships. Be sure to check for to-dos frequently and follow the instructions to complete them on time.

On the home page of the app, select the To-Dos button. Select the funnel icon at the top of your “To-Dos and Events” list to filter for completed, overdue, or all to-dos.

Once you have satisfied the requirement or condition to remove the hold and the university has processed the update, your hold will be removed from your record and no longer appear on MyCSULB Student Center or your Beach Connect mobile app. Although you may have satisfied the requirement or condition to remove the hold, your hold will not be removed until the university has processed the update to your record.

Your class schedule in the Beach Connect mobile app refreshes once per day. Check your class schedule in Beach Connect the following business day to review your updated schedule.
