Cultural Graduation Celebrations 2024

The CSULB Cultural Graduation Celebrations (CGC) are held annually in addition to the traditional University Commencement ceremonies. The Cultural Graduation Celebrations support our university mission of fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility by recognizing graduates who identify as members of non-dominant, minoritized, historically and currently marginalized communities. CSULB Celebrates First-Generation Students

Nov. 8 is National First-Generation College Celebration Day, observed annually to recognize the signing of the Higher Education Act of 1965 by then-President Lyndon B. Johnson. This act created federal financial aid programs and made key investments in colleges and universities.
