Safer offers confidential support for CSULB staff and faculty impacted by sexual harassment/assault, relationship violence, or stalking, regardless of how long ago the incident occurred. Our services can be tailored to meet the specific needs of our faculty and staff.

Whether you're seeking guidance, resources, or simply someone to talk to, we're here to support your healing and well-being in a safe, nonjudgmental space.
  • Meeting Locations
    Safer is located in Student Health Services (SHS) and accepts walk-ins. However, we understand that confidentiality is especially important for faculty and staff members. Your comfort and privacy matter to us, and we’re here to support you in the way that feels safest and most convenient. That’s why we offer flexible appointment options—including phone and Zoom—so you can connect with us from wherever you feel most at ease.
  • Confidentiality
    Safer Advocates are certified as Sexual Assault Counselors (California Code, Evidence Code – EVID § 1035.2) and Domestic Violence Counselors (California Code, Evidence Code – EVID § 1037.1). The California Evidence Code grants Counselors privileged communication with victims that protects confidential communication between the Counselor and survivor.

  • Employee Resource
    The Faculty & Staff Assistance Program, also known as FSAP, is a free, confidential resource to help you resolve personal, family, or work-related problems. Services provided by FSAP are available only by appointment and are at no cost to employees.
