Parking For Commencement
We anticipate welcoming between 10,000-12,000 guests, graduates, and volunteers during each commencement ceremony. That is over 100,000 people throughout the 5 days of ceremonies planned on campus! Because of this, we encourage carpooling, ride share and other public transportation options wherever possible to ensure everyone can access each ceremony in a timely manner and enjoy their event.
Additional information is provided below.
Parking opens 90 minutes before each ceremony. Parking is free in all General (G) Lots on campus during and up to an hour after commencement.
- Graduates (CSULB students)
- Park in the Pyramid parking structure, or in Lots G3, G5, and G6.
- Walk down the access road between the Jack Rose Track and the Kleefeld Contemporary Art Museum.
- Arrive at your prestaging area located in Lot E4.
- Guests (Family and friends)
There will be an ADA drop-off/pick-up location provided on the 1st floor of the PV North parking structure.
- ADA drop off
- Enter from Palo Verde Ave. at the CSULB PKNG traffic signal.
- Turn right into PV North parking structure.
- Follow the signs for ADA Drop Off.
- Drop off your passenger.
- Proceed to the parking areas listed above.
- After the ceremony, you may retrieve your vehicle and return to pick up your passenger.

- ADA parking for those with a DMV disabled placard or disabled license plate can be found in most lots around campus.
Designated drop-off zones for ridesharing services like Uber and Lyft will provided in front of the LBS Financial Credit Union Pyramid (D5).
- From the D5 drop off zone, use the walkways that lead past the LBS Financial Credit Union Pyramid and directly into the commencement entrance in Lot G12.
Public transportation access to the ceremony is available via Long Beach Transit.
- Take LBT 173
- Exit the Atherton & McNab SE bus stop or the Atherton & Carfax SE bus stop.
- Proceed towards the commencement entrance located in Lot G12.
Certain traffic patterns may be observed to maximize traffic flow and ease traffic congestion.
Please follow all traffic officer instructions and be aware that you may not be able to exit the campus via the same route that you entered. These patterns ensure that everyone can access and exit our campus in a timely manner to enjoy their celebration on time.
