Dr. Mitra Baghdadi brings over 20 years of experience in community-based research, experiential learning, and program development. As Associate Director of the Center for Community Engagement at California State University, Long Beach, she leads the Service-Learning program, supports faculty in integrating experiential learning, and advances strategic community partnerships. This dissertation examines how leadership development can be intentionally integrated into service-learning (SL) pedagogy in higher education to enhance civic, academic, and professional outcomes, particularly for historically underserved students.
