Holiday Crafting Party

BUILD end of semester holiday party

Camaraderie, Crafting, Croissants, and Cocoa!

BUILD staff member, Marie Reed, had the idea of hosting a student craft event and Training Directors thought it would be a great idea to surprise students with this as their final Learning Community meeting of the fall semester!

So, on December 10, 2021, BUILD Training Directors Dr. Shelly Gonzalez, Dr. Young-Hee Cho, and Dr. Jesse Dillon (who is also a BUILD PI) brought their Trainees to the BUILD Center and surprised them with a fun morning full of camaraderie, crafting, donuts, croissants, coffee, tea, and hot cocoa!

Members of the BUILD Team brought in various crafts to make including BUILD colored sand vases (we are at The Beach), squishy stress balls, felt reindeers, stockings to decorate, and wooden ornaments to paint. Everyone (students, graduate mentors, staff, and faculty) enjoyed hanging out and catching up. The crafty event turned out to be successful and fun as all three cohorts got to mingle with each other and catch up, which has been hard with so many students still being virtual.
