My experience at CSULB was something I couldn’t have imagined for myself when I initially got accepted by the university. It was incredible reflecting back on how anxious I was initially to leave my dorm room alone, and now I have never been more excited to see what life has to offer. I learned to be more independent and navigate life on my own while also meeting so many new people, many of which I can now call my closest friends and I’ve learned how to put myself first above all. It was even more exciting getting involved in news organizations like DIG Mag where I even got the chance to write the cover story for the Spring 2025 issue. I feel like I’ve become someone that my younger self would be so proud to be with how much I’ve grown personally and professionally.

CSULB was one of my two top choices because of the great things I’ve about the programs there, and when I switched to journalism I was ecstatic to find out how diverse the journalism program is. But my main reason was the proximity to different locations outside of campus. I felt like I could have a good balance of my school and personal life while exploring everything from the cute cafes to exploring downtown Disney.

I hope to pursue a position for a newsletter organization that focuses on culture and lifestyle somewhere in Arizona which is where I plan to move. I love collecting different newsletters and going through them to learn about new places, fashion trends, and local businesses.

I would love to stay connected with other CSULB Alum once we all graduate. Even while I’m in another state I would love to come visit Long Beach occasionally.
