University Relations builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholder groups, including public officials, community and business leaders, and alumni. These constituencies are critical to the success of the university, and serve as active partners in advocating for our students and the advancement of our educational mission.

Christopher J. Reese
Associate Vice President
Chris joined Long Beach State in 2019 after serving as vice president for workforce and economic development at the Orange County Business Council. He has two decades of previous government and constituent outreach and advocacy experience through positions in the California State Legislature, Iger & Associates, and Cal State Fullerton, where he is a two-time alumnus and taught political science for six years. In his current position, he also serves as secretary of the 49er Foundation.
