Advancement Services is composed of the Alumni Records Office, the Development Information Systems Office, and the Division Technical Support operation.
As part of University Relations and Development, Advancement Services supports and enhances the university’s development activities through management of the data infrastructure, reporting mechanisms, prospect research and management, gift and pledge processing and technical support. Advancement Services maintains all the records of the university’s fundraising activities, including fundraising efforts conducted outside University Relations and Development.
Alumni Records Office
The Alumni Records Office organizes, maintains and updates the records of more than 310,000 CSULB graduates, as well as parents, friends and community organizations. Staff members collect and update biographical information such as names, addresses, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses and business information. The office serves both University Relations and Development and the entire campus community.
Alumni may submit biographical data changes via e-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Updates help assure prompt delivery of alumni communications, including the Beach Connection and the Beach Review.
Development Information Systems Office
Maintaining and supporting the biographical database at California State University, Long Beach is the responsibility of the Development Information Systems Office. Database specialists ensure information is recorded properly, as well as develop reporting tools for University Relations and Development.
Division Technical Support
California State University, Long Beach is committed to alumni and donor confidentiality. Technical experts assure the safekeeping of biographical information and donation histories.
