Sarah Underwood

Sarah Underwood has an extensive professional career in the theatre. She played Harper in the National Tour of Angels In America and in Chicago, performed at the Goodman, Steppenwolf, Northlight, Victory Gardens, Apple Tree, and Apollo theatres, to name a few. She was nominated for a Joseph Jefferson award for her role as Louise in the long running Midwest premiere of Always,... Patsy Cline. She was in the Chicago production of The Vagina Monologues, which also enjoyed a long run. Sarah has had the great fortune to work with some of our most outstanding directors and playwrights including Michael Mayer, Rick Cleveland, Tony Kushner, Frank Galati, Kim Rubinstein, and Curt Columbus. For her television work, she was celebrated in Chicago’s Screen Magazine. She is a highly accomplished jazz musician (saxophones, clarinet, and flute) and has performed onstage and/or recorded with Little Feat, Shaun LaBelle, The O’Jay’s, Bob Weir, Heat, Jules Day, Kenny Rankin, and Robert Irving III (formerly of Miles Davis Group). Sarah has been on the faculty at CSULB since 2010.
