Community Liaisons
Every Village has a traditional leadership structure that helps maintain social connection, encourage growth, and preserve cultural identity. Local faith‑based organizations play an essential role in the CSULB Village, and we invite community members to partner with us in supporting future college students.
As a Community Liaison, you will help connect your local church with CSULB resources, programs, and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead outreach/recruitment efforts within your local church community.
- Support educational workshops such as:
- Financial Aid & FAFSA Assistance
- Student Loan Information Sessions
- Housing Opportunity Overviews
- Financial Workshops
- Student Organization Advice to youth interested in CSULB
- Scholarship Workshops
- Promote CSULB programs and events and CSULB promotes yours.
- Help increase enrollment of students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds.
The Role of a CSULB Village Community Liaison
- Become a certified CSULB Liaison through official training sessions.
- Gain insight into the college admissions process and learn about CSULB-specific programs.
- Receive resources to host events, workshops, and celebrations at your church.
- Collaborate with CSULB Outreach staff.
- Serve as a bridge between prospective students and CSULB, helping them navigate the path to higher education.
