President Conoley Discusses CARES Act Disbursements

Planning for the Fall Semester Continues
President Conoley’s recent update for faculty and staff outlined the continuing efforts to prepare for our eventual “repopulation” of campus. The update also touches on the latest Student Housing planning, a potential new partnership with the Long Beach City Public Health Department to increase access to testing and tracing for the Beach community, and the emerging budget impacts of the COVID-19 crisis for the CSU system.
Staff Member Pedro Castro Embodies the OneBeach Spirit
Castro was recently honored with the 2020 Outstanding Staff Member Award, given annually to the staff person who goes beyond service on the job and has made significant contributions of time and/or talents to the university.
Commencement Website Relaunch
Though this week’s Commencement ceremonies were postponed by COVID-19, CSULB has relaunched the Commencement website to help celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2020. The site features best-of social media posts from seniors and special congratulatory messages from President Jane Close Conoley and the individual college deans.
Healthcare Heroes: Pandemic Has Changed the Way Nurses Interact with Patients
The latest entry in CSULB’s Healthcare Heroes series follows emergency room nurse Tassia Trink ‘03, ‘11, who shares how fundamentally healthcare workers’ jobs have been strained by COVID-19 – from the realities of emotional stress to the complications associated with simply connecting and communicating with patients.
