Professor helps connect food, culture and community at Asian American Museum

Oliver Wang, a professor in the Department of Sociology at Cal State Long Beach, was quoted in the Orange County Register about the evolution of food in the Asian diaspora. As part of the Asian American Museum at Irvine's Great Park, Wang connected Filipino cuisine to migration, identity, family and cultural history, demonstrating how food can preserve stories, highlight underrepresented traditions and bring communities together.
