Living on campus empowers our students to become more inclusive, responsible, mindful, and engaged community members, embracing their authentic selves at CSULB and beyond.

The Beach Journey residential curriculum is an intentional approach to ensuring that learning takes place everywhere, not just in the classroom launched in Fall 2019. Students who choose to live on campus and become a member of the Housing and Residential Life community will have the opportunity to engage in various strategies that enhance the development and growth of our residents and CSULB community.  

Through their Beach Journey living in the halls, residents will develop in the following areas:

  • Essential Life Skills
  • Academic Engagement
  • Cultural Competency
  • Holistic Wellness
