Hip Hop & Fiction: Creating a Fresh Genre

Novelist 

Max Evans is a native son of Long Beach who graduated with a BA in Psychology and an MFA in Fiction from CSULB. For his debut novel, Escape to Butterfly Ave, a new genre in writing called Remix Fiction has been created. Blended together into the narrative structure of a novel, adaptations of Hip Hop songs comprise each chapter. Evans is an award-winning author whose poetry and short stories have been anthologized.
