Biology (BIOL) - S/I Leaders

Julia is a 3rd-year Kinesiology, Exercise Science major from Valencia, CA. In the future she hopes to attend medical school and pursue a career as a physician. She became an SI Leader because of the positive impact the program had on her own experience in challenging courses, and she hopes to create that same supportive environment for others. Outside of school, she enjoys crafting, going on walks, and running. 

Tamnhu is a Public Health Major with a concentration in Community Health Education from Westminster, CA. She became an SI Leader to help students who were once in the same position she was in and to contribute to an engaging learning environment where learning is fun. She aspires to become an epidemiologist or a psychiatric nurse. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, playing video games, and digitally illustrating. 

Katriella is a Pre-Nursing major from Fremont, California. She understands that biology is a difficult subject and decided to become an SI Leader because of how much Supplemental Instruction helped her succeed in the course. Through her experience with SI, she gained a better understanding of the material and more confidence as a student, inspiring her to create that same environment for other students. Katriella hopes to attend nursing school and pursue a career as a registered nurse.  

Olivia is a pre-nursing major from Pomona, California. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in nursing, she plans to become a registered nurse and hopes to work in either the NICU or ICU. From a young age, Olivia has had a strong passion for helping others, and she aspires to fulfill that passion through a career in nursing. She became an SI Leader because of the positive impact SI had on her academic journey and the guidance it provided throughout her studies. Through this role, she hopes to help guide and support students by fostering a welcoming and encouraging learning environment. In her free time, Olivia enjoys running, reading, and visiting coffee spot

Rachel is a second-year student majoring in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science. She became an SI leader because she is very passionate about learning and wants to help others succeed in their academics. Her goal is to pursue a career in medicine as a physician. 

Tabbatha is a Pre-Nursing major from San Fernando Valley, CA. She became an SI Leader to continue helping her peers throughout the infamous CHEM 140. Her goal is to be accepted into the CSULB School of Nursing and ultimately become a forensic nurse. Tabbatha enjoys spending her free time either reading fantasy books, watching K-dramas, or trying cutesy coffee shops! 

Bethany is a Pre-Nursing major from Burbank, CA. Through the SI program, Bethany hopes to be a helpful resource for her students by promoting discussion and understanding of the rigorous course of Microbiology. In her free time, she likes to paint, study at cute cafes, and go out with her friends." 

Marrick is a Pre-Nursing major from Elk Grove, CA. He became an SI Leader because he’s always enjoyed helping peers reach their fullest potential and believe in their capabilities. He wants to become an RN in the future. 

Josh is a Kinesiology major with a focus in Exercise Science from San Jose, CA. He became an SI leader to help give students the resources and support they need to thrive in difficult courses. After graduating, he is looking to pursue a career in physical therapy. Josh enjoys working out, cooking food, and playing beach volleyball in his free time." 

Swarna is a Pre-Nursing major. She understands how difficult the pre-requisites can be for many STEM majors and wants to assist students to study their hardest and do the best in their class. In her free time, she loves to rock climb or gym, go to the beach, try coffee shops, and do lots of side quests! 

Jasmine is a Kinesiology major with an option in Exercise Science major from the Bay Area. She became an SI Leader because she took an SI class that she loved, and she wanted to pass the knowledge forward to help other students. Her ultimate goal is to become a physical therapist. Jasmine loves going to the beach, going on drives, and watching movies. 

Rich is a Pre-Nursing major who grew up in Torrance but now lives in Lakewood, California. Rich became an SI Leader to give back to the program that has helped him so much, so he wants to help students to succeed in the same way his SI Leaders helped him. Rich’s ultimate career goal is to be accepted in the CSULB School of Nursing and eventually become an emergency room nurse. In his spare time, he loves watching movies, going to new cafes, and drinking coffee. 

Cora is a Kinesiology major. She understands how difficult science classes are, so she became an SI Leader to help students with these courses so that they have the best outcome possible in the class. In her free time, she loves to play soccer, go to the gym, and just hang out with friends! 

Kayla is a Pre-Nursing major aspiring to become a pediatric oncology nurse and eventually a CRNA. Driven by her passion for supporting others and fostering academic success, she became an SI Leader to help students navigate challenging subjects with confidence. Outside of academics, she enjoys spending time at the beach! 

Leo is a Kinesiology major with an option in Exercise Science from West Los Angeles, CA. He became an SI Leader because he wants to help students build confidence in their chosen paths and provide the support they need to succeed. His ultimate career goal is to become a physical therapist, but he hopes to return to the classroom as a professor in the future. In his free time, he enjoys weightlifting, going on bike rides, and fingerboarding. 

Justin is a Pre-Nursing major. He became an SI leader to build a welcoming environment where students can achieve their goals in rigorous courses. His goal is to boost students’ confidence and morale when facing difficult content and help them believe in themselves just as much as he believes in them. He aspires to become a registered nurse and then pursue a career as a nurse practitioner or a pediatrician. He wants to be able to support his students as they continue their journey at CSULB and strengthen their foundation as students. 

Shawn is a Pre-Nursing major who aspires to become a Nurse Practitioner. Inspired by the support he received from his own SI Leaders, he chose to become an SI Leader to give back and help students better understand challenging concepts. He likes snowboarding, playing drums, DJing, fishing, and hanging out with friends.
