Amanda Sauceda, a lecturer in nutrition and dietetics in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Cal State Long Beach, spoke with Verywell Health, saying cinnamon and ginger may offer digestive benefits, but evidence that tea meaningfully controls blood sugar remains limited. Studies typically test concentrated powders, extracts or supplements. Sauceda notes cinnamon amounts used in research can resemble home servings and advises caution for people prone to heartburn.
