CSULB consumer expert helped shoppers navigate Labor Day sales

Zoe Engstrom, a lecturer in the Family and Consumer Sciences Department at Cal State Long Beach, told KRCR TV in Redding, Calif., that Labor Day sales can rival Black Friday, particularly for seasonal merchandise such as school supplies, summer clothing and patio furniture. She advised shoppers to compare actual prices across retailers and consider waiting for better discounts on electronics, appliances and toys.
