Our Return from Spring Break

Published April 4, 2022

Dear Beach students, faculty, and staff:

Many in the Beach community had the opportunity to take some time away from campus during spring break.

As we prepare to resume the semester, please keep in mind that a highly infectious Omicron subvariant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus — dubbed BA.2 — is expected to continue to spread.

As we have throughout the pandemic, we are closely monitoring public health guidance. We strongly encourage you to wear face coverings even in areas where they are not required as we watch to see how BA.2 progresses. Those areas in which masks are required, including in classrooms and labs, are described on our COVID-19 information website.

Please continue to use the online health screening questionnaire every day you come to campus. This is an important step in staying mindful of your health status as you self-monitor for any emerging symptoms. The questionnaire, the wearing of face coverings, and other signs of good judgment, like elective physical distancing, continue to help keep our campus safe.

Thank you for your attention to this information, and I wish you a productive and enriching rest of the semester.
