Ocean Studies Program Offers CSULB Students Chance to Explore Sea Life off Catalina Island

For more than 20 years, The Beach has provided instructors to teach on Catalina, giving students the experience of hands-on research, presenting their findings to friends and family at a symposium, and writing academic papers.

CSULB Students Join Effort to Assess Impact of Huntington Beach Oil Spill

In response to the oil spill off Huntington Beach, CSULB's Shark Lab and Whitcraft Wetlands Lab took part in field sampling along various Southern California shorelines to assess the damage to native marine life and sensitive ecological systems.

Marine biology faculty offer professional development workshops for our students every year! This series gives our students multiple opportunities each year to informally meet with faculty, graduate students, alumni, and other professionals in the field to enhance and promote their professional development.
