Rede-FINDING Yourself: Identifying as a Life-Long Learner With Multiple Passions

Carlos H. Hernández is a life-long learner who enjoys acquiring new skills to enhance his career as an educator, match operations staff in professional soccer, and a soccer match official. Prior to becoming a school counselor, he completed a master's program in Tourism, Hospitality, and Recreation Management at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). Additionally, he also obtained a bachelor's degree with double major option from CSUN in Central American Studies and Psychology. 

Since 2013, Hernández has balanced life as a family man, educator, and soccer referee. As an educator, he works with families and students to navigate the school system in Los Angeles. Through soccer he has officiated several competitive matches at the amateur, high school, and collegiate levels. In match operations he has worked soccer matches as a referee liaison officer for Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), Angel City Football Club (ACFC), FIFA, and other international competitions throughout Los Angeles. 

He is constantly “rede-FINDING” himself as a person who is living a passionate life doing the things he enjoys around loved ones while everything else falls into place.
