Ed Apodaca was raised in Lakewood California and after high school, he attended and graduated from Long Beach City College and CSULB. He worked for GTE/Verizon and retired in 2015 after 35 years. He held many positions including working upfront with customers and behind the scenes as a Translation Specialist doing troubleshooting and software analysis.

Ed became a member of the Alumni Association after graduation and joined the board of directors in 2003. He has served as a board member and as an executive officer.  He has been on different committees and attends many functions in support of the different organizations on campus.

Some of his favorite campus activities include Bowling for Books, Concerts at the Beach, the annual Alumni Banquet and working the alumni tent at various campus functions.

He takes pride in being able to give back to the Beach through his volunteering efforts and with annual monetary donations. Ed hopes others will follow by example and see that our Alumni Association will be as strong and successful as our members make it.

He looks forward to the groundbreaking and completion of the Alumni Community Center so our fellow and upcoming alumni will have a place to meet and be proud of.
