Founders Week

Founders Week

Founders Week celebrates the start of the Long Beach State story, but even more importantly looks to the future and how our students, alumni, and friends will make their mark tomorrow. Check out all the Founders

Week daily activities taking place September 28th throught October 2nd, 2020.

On September 28, 1949, Los Angeles-Orange County State College began its first day of classes. One hundred and sixty-nine students were enrolled for the first semester taught by thirteen full-time faculty. Classes convened in a converted apartment building where the foundation of our pride and traditions all began.

This inaugural day marked the beginning of a growing academic institution into what is now Long Beach State. CSULB has been changing lives and moving the world forward ever since!

Founders Week is an opportunity to recognize our achievements, our future possibilities, and the invaluable role that the university plays in the community, region, country, and world.
