Audrey Yoshimura
Major: Health Science
Audrey is a Health Science major at CSULB. She became an SI leader because she understands the challenges that come with being a college student, she hopes to help other students by being a supportive and encouraging peer leader. In her free time, she is an avid reader, crafter, and occasionally visits the Rec Center to play basketball!
Genine Tugonon
Major: Kinesiology
Genine is a Kinesiology major with an emphasis in Exercise Science. Her career goal is to become a physical therapist. She became an SI Leader, because she wants to help students become more confident in their learning abilities and study habits.
Esther Pham
Major: Molecular Cell Biology & Physiology
Esther is a Molecular Cell Biology & Physiology major with a Chemistry minor. After being an SI student for multiple subjects, she has experienced how much SI contributes to academic success and wanted to become an SI leader to help other students achieve their academic goals. In the future, Esther plans to attend optometry school to become an optometrist. She is interested in specializing in LASIK, myopia control, or sports vision but isn't sure yet of which one. Although Esther likes to spend her free time hanging out with her friends and going to coffee shops, she loves to spend it sleeping the most.
Ess Arensdorf
Major: Health Science
Ess is a Health Science Major with a theatre minor from Orcutt, CA. She became an SI leader because she is always looking for ways to help her peers and encourage them to learn with her. Ess is fascinated by Biology and is a member of the Ultimate Frisbee team here at CSULB.
EJ Mauricio
Major: Public Health
EJ is a Public Health major. He chose to become an SI Leader because student and patient empowerment is a deep passion of his. His goal is to inspire and instill confidence within other students to embrace who they are and shoot for the stars! He dreams of bridging gaps in current health care inequities and finding better ways to improve patient care. In his free time, he loves playing the guitar, visiting the aquarium, and can't say no to getting food with friends.
Julia Desmet
Major: Kinesiology
Julia is a 3rd-year Kinesiology, Exercise Science major from Valencia, CA. In the future she hopes to attend medical school and pursue a career as a physician. She became an SI Leader because of the positive impact the program had on her own experience in challenging courses, and she hopes to create that same supportive environment for others. Outside of school, she enjoys crafting, going on walks, and running.
Marissa Pysher
Major: Kinesiology
Marissa is a Kinesiology Exercise Science major with minors in Health Humanities and Equity & Education Studies. She became an SI leader to help students become more confident in their academic abilities and create a supportive learning environment. She plans to use these skills in her future career as a science teacher, which she will achieve through a single subject teaching credential. In her free time, she loves cooking, going to the beach, crocheting, taking naps, and hanging out with friends.
Tamnhu Tran
Major: Community Health Education
Tamnhu is a Public Health Major with a concentration in Community Health Education from Westminster, CA. She became an SI Leader to help students who were once in the same position she was in and to contribute to an engaging learning environment where learning is fun. She aspires to become an epidemiologist or a psychiatric nurse. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, playing video games, and digitally illustrating.
Katriella De Guzman
Major: Pre-Nursing
Katriella is a Pre-Nursing major from Fremont, California. She understands that biology is a difficult subject and decided to become an SI Leader because of how much Supplemental Instruction helped her succeed in the course. Through her experience with SI, she gained a better understanding of the material and more confidence as a student, inspiring her to create that same environment for other students. Katriella hopes to attend nursing school and pursue a career as a registered nurse.
Olivia Rivera
Major: Pre-Nursing
Olivia is a pre-nursing major from Pomona, California. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in nursing, she plans to become a registered nurse and hopes to work in either the NICU or ICU. From a young age, Olivia has had a strong passion for helping others, and she aspires to fulfill that passion through a career in nursing. She became an SI Leader because of the positive impact SI had on her academic journey and the guidance it provided throughout her studies. Through this role, she hopes to help guide and support students by fostering a welcoming and encouraging learning environment. Autrina Dehdashtinejad
Major: Pre-Nursing
Autrina is a Pre-Nursing major from Los Angeles, California. She plans to graduate with her BSN and then continue schooling in the future to become a Nurse Practioner. She became an SI leader because she wants to provide the same support and guidance to students that she received from her own SI leaders. In her free time, Autrina loves to try new caffes, spend time at the beach, and go out with friends.
Ava Vasquez
Major: Pre-Nursing
Ava is a 2nd-year pre-nursing student from Los Angeles, California. In the future, she aspires to become a Pediatric Nurse. She became an SI Leader to help students become more confident in themselves and is passionate in supporting others through their studies. Ava understands the complexity of BIO 208 and wants her students to feel comfortable and grow a love for Human Anatomy! On the weekend, Ava enjoys trying new coffee shops with her sister, going shopping and spending time with her family.
Rachel Widofsky
Major: Kinesiology
Rachel is a second-year student majoring in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science. She became an SI leader because she is very passionate about learning and wants to help others succeed in their academics. Her goal is to pursue a career in medicine as a physician.
Tabbatha Sanchez
Major: Pre-Nursing
Tabbatha is a Pre-Nursing major from San Fernando Valley, CA. She became an SI Leader to continue helping her peers throughout the infamous CHEM 140. Her goal is to be accepted into the CSULB School of Nursing and ultimately become a forensic nurse. Tabbatha enjoys spending her free time either reading fantasy books, watching K-dramas, or trying cutesy coffee shops!
Abygail Gonzalez
Major: Pre-Nursing
Abygail is a Pre-Nursing Major. She hopes to graduate with her BSN and become an RN in the future. She became an SIL to help students succeed by providing beneficial study habit tips, resources, and an overall support system for students who are faced with challenging courses. She loves the beauty of kindness, retail therapy, and matcha!
