Presidential Listening Tour Frequently Asked Questions
The Presidential Listening Tour schedule is currently being developed. Because the sessions are intended to include a broad range of campus community members, the university is currently consulting with campus partners to coordinate dates, times, locations, and participation opportunities that support meaningful engagement. Additional information, including the listening session schedule and registration details, will be shared through campus communications and the Presidential Listening Tour website as soon as dates are finalized.
The Presidential Listening Tour is designed to gather insights from the CSULB community to help inform the university’s next strategic plan. By creating opportunities for students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni, and community partners to share their perspectives, the tour is designed to support a transparent and inclusive planning process that reflects the diverse experiences and priorities of the campus community.
The entire campus community is encouraged to participate to ensure that feedback reflects the breadth and diversity of the CSULB community.
Participants may be invited to attend sessions based on their stakeholder group or campus affiliation. There will also be multiple open sessions for the campus community as well as an E-Response form on the website. Information about scheduled sessions, registration details, and participation opportunities will be shared through campus communications and the Presidential Listening Tour website as dates are finalized.
Each listening session is expected to last approximately 60 minutes. Sessions will generally include a welcome and introduction, brief remarks from President Blanchard, a facilitated discussion using guiding questions, closing remarks, and information about next steps.

Yes. You can submit a E- form. A QR Code will also be shared at the close of each session so participants and other community members can submit additional reflections.
Yes. Feedback submitted through the E-Response form will be anonymous. Names will not be collected during in-person or virtual listening sessions. Feedback from all formats will be reviewed to identify themes, patterns, and recommendations that help inform CSULB’s strategic planning process.
Feedback will be collected through live notetaking, AI transcription, and E-Response form submissions. Data will be reviewed through a structured thematic analysis process to identify common themes, shared priorities, emerging opportunities, and key concerns. The information will then be synthesized into summaries and reports that help inform CSULB’s strategic planning process, including future conversations and recommendations with a CSULB Strategic Planning Committee that will be formed in the near future. Questions regarding the committee may be sent to BeachFutures@CSULB.edu.
The university will report to the campus community in Spring 2026 after the listening sessions are complete and the data has been synthesized.
