Matt Lesenyie, an assistant professor of political science at Cal State Long Beach, spoke with the Orange County Register about why Republican candidates in California’s gubernatorial primary were attacking one another. He explained that if Republican voters were divided between the two candidates, neither would receive enough support to advance past the primary.
