Psychologist comments on how SoCal residents cope with news from the Middle East

Marwa Azab, a psychology lecturer at Cal State Long Beach, told LAist that people with ties to the Middle East and Iran may be deeply affected by graphic war coverage. She explained that the stress can become so intense that it shifts from heightened anxiety to a sense of emotional numbness or disconnection.
