No Mystery Behind Lone Stingray's Pregnancy

Chris Lowe, professor and director of the Shark Lab at Cal State Long Beach, was interviewed by Forbes and Smithsonian Magazine about a stingray at the North Carolina aquarium that became pregnant without a mate. Professor Lowe said sharks and rays are capable of reproducing by themselves (parthenogenesis).
