Cal State Long Beach draws praise for programs supporting commuter students

An opinion column in the educational journal EdSource noted Cal State Long Beach’s approach to supporting nonresidential commuter students with employment and family commitments beyond campus. Andrea Baltodano wrote that Long Beach State programs “show that campuses can adapt through activities scheduled when students are already present, commuter lounges and dedicated outreach, helping students access community and services without requiring them to reorganize their lives around campus.”
