Commencement 2022 Set to Return to Angel Stadium

As an encore to an amazing series of Beach Commencement ceremonies at Angel Stadium in May 2021, Commencement 2022 returns to the venue this coming May 16-18.

The university anticipates a record number of graduates and guests this spring, filling the stadium to capacity seven times over two-and-a-half days.

The Instagram-worthy "graduate recognition stages," a popular feature last year, will return, too, allowing each graduate to be individually recognized with their name called and a custom slide displayed behind them as they walk a stage for family and friends. The stages, which will be at a number of sites around the stadium, will be available before and after the main ceremonies.

This year's lineup:

  • College of Engineering - May 16, 9 a.m.
  • College of Education - May 16, 1 p.m.
  • College of Liberal Arts - May 16, 5 p.m.
  • College of the Arts - May 17, 9 a.m.
  • College of Natural Sciences & Mathematics - May 17, 1 p.m.
  • College of Business - May 17, 5 p.m.
  • College of Health & Human Services - May 18, 9 a.m.

Ceremonies will be live-streamed for family and friends unable to attend in person.

The Commencement website will be updated regularly as ticket availability, distribution, and new ceremony details become available.

The university will also monitor and implement any COVID-related precautions as implemented by the stadium or by public-health officials.
